The bathroom has long evolved into a space in our home where we love to spend time. Thus, much emphasis is placed on harmonious furnishing and a welcoming atmosphere. Towels quickly add a homely character to the bathroom. It's great when towels not only impress with their soft feel, but also colour-coordinate with the décor style.
Do you consciously take a little break now and then with a relaxing bath? How lovely is it then to wrap yourself in plush, soft towels afterward? For drying off after a bath or shower, bath towels are ideal. Towels of this size perfectly absorb all the moisture and allow one to fully wrap up in them.
Traditional-sized towels mainly find their use next to the sink for drying face and hands. This size is also commonly used to wrap hair into a turban post-shower. As true all-rounders, they are also optimal companions for the gym or for hydrotherapy sessions.
Have you decided to get new towels for your bathroom? It's a delightful decision because with towel sets, a fresh vibe is introduced to the bathroom. To create a cohesive look with the new bathroom textiles, there are multiple sizes available in every colour. This way, you can assemble the towel set that fits your needs. A single colour or preferably harmoniously matched shades? Which sizes are used in your household? Our Leonora and Ladessa ranges offer a vast selection of sizes and colours of premium quality.
In our shop, we offer individual sets at a fantastic price advantage. These towel sets are perfect for personal use or even as a gift. Towels can quickly and effortlessly introduce colour into the bathroom. Perhaps the dark towels have simply served their time, and it's time for bright, cheeky colours to take their place. Or do you deliberately want to set accents with grey and black towels? Let our broad colour palette inspire you. Discover beautiful décor ideas from our inspirations: Pastel Love or Green Colour Love.
A light, cool rock grey, a dark granite grey, or a warm silver grey? Which shade of grey would suit your bathroom towels? The range of different grey hues is vast, and so is the effect of each shade. Grey towels are versatile – they allow for mixing and matching of different shades, and grey harmoniously blends with other strong trending colours.
Turquoise encompasses various shades between green and blue. Associated with holidays and turquoise seas, it fits splendidly into any home bathroom. With turquoise towels, you can introduce the colour in various ways – beside the sink, on a towel rail, or stacked on bathroom shelves. Turquoise towels complement white, other shades of blue, or, more contemporarily, a rich curry yellow.
Green towels bring nature into the bathroom. Green has a calming effect and is commonly associated with nature. Even the names of various green shades derive from natural descriptors – sage green, pine green, or alpine green. For those wanting to introduce green into their bathroom, towels are a great choice. Various green shades can be combined beautifully.
Beige towels beautifully complement a natural bathroom decor style. Beige, sometimes referred to as natural, includes soft, warm, very light brown shades or muted whites. Beige towels look less stark than white ones and pair beautifully with red tones. A combination of beige towels with various red shades can create a warm, feminine ambiance.
One might not initially consider black for towels, but black towels can complete certain decor styles perfectly. Black towels, like those from the Leonora range, can appear very elegant and sophisticated or modern and cool. To prevent the black from appearing too heavy, simply mix and match with various grey tones.
The classic choice is certainly white towels. White towels appear fresh, clean, and hygienic. White is a colour that suits every decor style and mixes wonderfully with others. If your bathroom is on the smaller side, white towels and furnishings can be a great choice to visually enlarge the space. To avoid the overall look from becoming cold or sterile, you can combine with gentle cream or rose shades.
Blue towels are perfect for the bathroom. The colour blue is often associated with water, the sea, and tranquillity. Hence, it's perfect for the bathroom, a place of relaxation at home. Blue is equally popular among men and women, and using towels in various shades can create a harmonious atmosphere in the bathroom. Create a maritime wellness oasis with blue towels.
Pink towels can contribute to a perfectly coordinated cheerful bathroom. With delicate and muted tones, pink can appear very mature. Combining pink towels with cream and brown shades is femininely delightful. A modern look can be achieved with curry yellow or natural green shades. Which colour combination would suit your bathroom? Once you've decided, towels can introduce your desired colours into the bathroom.
Moving into your first flat or just completed a bathroom renovation? The right towels could be the finishing touch to your setup. If you're considering buying towels, it's worth pondering a few things beforehand. Towels come in a plethora of varieties: material, colour, and most importantly, different sizes. Starting from the wash mitt, guest towel, through to the hand towel, bath towel, and up to large sauna towels. When looking to buy towels, it's worthwhile to focus on quality to ensure long-lasting satisfaction.
Most bathrooms are equipped with a bath towel, ready to wrap oneself in after a pleasant bath or shower. A bath towel, also referred to as a shower towel, is larger than a standard towel. The size of 70 x 140 cm is considered the standard measurement for bath towels. Even slightly larger towels are often referred to as bath towels. This size is sufficient to dry both hair and body. Even then, towels of this size and good quality remain relatively dry.
Sauna towels are characterised by their large size and especially their length. Towels are typically labelled as sauna towels when they reach a length of 180 cm. Our premium sauna towels, Leonora, measure 90 x 200 cm, making them the perfect companion for the sauna. They're also ideal for loungers by the pool or at the outdoor pool. This ensures that the sauna bench or lounger is perfectly covered, leaving nothing to interfere with relaxation.
A standard towel measures 50 x 100 cm. These towels are typically found ready at hand next to the washbasin for drying hands or face. Often, towels of this size are also used to wrap up hair after a shower, allowing it to dry gently during body care. For drying the entire body, towels of 50 x 100 cm size might be slightly small, even if they're highly absorbent. However, for many other uses, this compact size is the perfect choice.
Towels are often needed for the gym. For equipment-based workouts, the standard towel of 50 x 100 cm is typically sufficient. It can adequately cover the seating area of machines and is also comfortable to wear around the neck while running on a cross trainer. For fitness classes primarily held on mats, shower towels are an excellent choice. If a towel is just needed to dry hands or the grips of squash or tennis rackets, then small guest towels are perfect.
The term beach towel XXL has established itself as a term for large towels. Beach towels are used, as the name suggests, as lounging towels on the beach or on the lounger. Because of their size, they are also easy to wrap around the body. Beach towels are larger than shower or bath towels. From a length of 180 cm, the term beach towel is often used. Our sauna towel, at 90 x 200 cm, serves the dimensions of a XXL beach towel.
As the name suggests, a sauna towel is primarily intended for sauna-goers. Many people enjoy saunas throughout the year, but the warmth is especially sought after during the winter. For a sauna visit, a dedicated sauna towel is the perfect choice. To maintain hygiene for all visitors, the sauna towel should be large enough to cover a relatively vast area on the wooden benches. In terms of material, a sauna towel made of cotton is very suitable. Cotton is soft and especially absorbent.
Many towels are made from cotton. In our range, we exclusively offer towels made of cotton. Cotton towels are gentle on the skin, absorbent, and durable. Moreover, cotton is very effective at soaking up water. Cotton towels are easy to care for. They can be washed in the machine at up to 60°C and withstand many washes. The weight of the towel, or its 'grammage', is also crucial for its feel and quality. Kela's towels, with a weight of 500 g/m², are among the thicker, high-quality offerings, thereby ensuring a high level of comfort and cosiness.
How often towels should be washed primarily depends on their usage. A common recommendation is not to use towels more than three times consecutively. Consequently, if you shower daily, a bath towel should be washed after three uses. Towels mainly placed beside the sink for drying hands should be changed every 1 - 3 days. Of course, this depends on the number of people in a household and the frequency of usage. Fundamentally, it's crucial that towels can dry out thoroughly.
With today's detergents and modern technology, washing programmes at 40°C are usually sufficient to get laundry clean. However, to hygienically clean towels and remove any germs, fungi, and bacteria that may have settled on them, a wash at 60°C is recommended. It's essential always to dry towels thoroughly and not to place them damp into the laundry basket. Also, after washing, towels should be well dried before being stored in the linen cupboard.
There are various methods for folding towels. The available space in the linen cupboard is crucial. Should towels be folded more narrowly and lengthwise? Or particularly flat? Guest towels can be rolled and attractively placed in small baskets in the guest bathroom. Tip: For gifting, towels can be neatly arranged in a stack and tied with ribbons. Towels can also be folded into specific motifs. Alternatively, consider using the towel as a sustainable gift wrapping.
A dryer is a helpful household appliance, especially when it comes to drying towels and bed linens. Cotton towels can generally be safely put into the dryer. All towels from Kela are suitable for tumble drying. A lovely side effect is that the dryer makes the fibres beautifully soft, giving the towel a wonderful cosy feel. Dryer balls can also be added to the dryer to enhance this effect. It's always essential to heed the washing and care instructions provided on the label.
The deciding factors are the size of the household and individual habits. How many people live in the household? Are towels needed for sports activities? Are there regular visits to the swimming pool or sauna? Once these considerations are made, the available space in the linen cupboard and laundry habits can also play a role. A basic setup should include several standard-sized towels per person, two bath towels, and multiple guest towels.
